Candle Care
Looking after your candle properly will help it burn beautifully and safely. Visit our Candle Care Guide for our tips and recommendations.
What kind of wax do you use?
Our candles are made using sustainable soy wax, while our wax melts are made from a creamy blend of rapeseed and coconut wax.
We choose plant-based waxes because they give our products their lovely creamy appearance and help provide a beautiful scent throw.
Why do you use wooden wicks?
We love the gentle, atmospheric crackle of a wooden wick.
Our wooden wicks are sourced from FSC-certified mills and are not pre-dipped in paraffin. They offer a slower burn and can produce less soot than traditional cotton wicks.
Are your fragrances vegan and cruelty-free?
All of our products are cruelty-free, meaning they are never tested on animals. Our fragrances are vegan-friendly and paraben-free.
Please note that our reed diffusers are not vegan-friendly, although they are never tested on animals.
Can I be notified when something is back in stock?
Absolutely. Visit the product that is currently out of stock and look for the restock notification box near the Add to Cart button.

How long does my order take to arrive?
We aim to dispatch orders within 3–5 working days.
Orders are sent using Royal Mail services, with 1st Class or Tracked 24 where available.
What can I do with my candle jar when my candle is finished?
Don’t throw it away! Once your candle has completely cooled, you can carefully remove the remaining wax and clean the jar.
Our wooden-lidded jars can then be reused as handy storage around your home.
Are your products safe to use around pets?
Our fragrances are created in accordance with IFRA standards for safe fragrance use. However, IFRA standards are designed for human use and do not specifically assess the suitability of fragrance ingredients around pets.
All of our products include allergen information to help you make an informed decision.
If you have concerns about using fragranced products around your pet, we recommend speaking with your vet.
Is The Aromatary sustainable?
Sustainability is important to us, and we’re always looking for ways to do better.
We source the majority of our materials from UK-based suppliers and small independent businesses wherever possible. Our packaging uses recycled and recyclable materials, and our packing peanuts are made from corn starch and dissolve in water.
We also use reclaimed ocean plastic or plastic containing at least 30% recycled material where plastic is necessary.
